Finished Focus Spirals stacked in several colourways on the studio bench in Tallinn

Plenty of products are designed in Europe and made somewhere else. This one is drawn in Tallinn, and the printers stand in the same room as the desk.

Because nothing is tooled, a spiral that comes off the bed badly can be in the bin by lunch and redrawn by the afternoon. There is no mould to defend.

We test with the kindergarten down the road.

Nordic design. Estonian manufacturing. Very demanding test pilots.

Built to survive curious minds.

Children test every version, because they do not read the instructions.

A version goes to a table of five-year-olds before it goes anywhere else, and they decide whether it gets made.

When it has been round a class of twenty-five, wash it with soap and water and start again.

We make them to be kept.

A Focus Spiral being worked open between two hands

Simple by design.

One printed piece, with nothing fastened, glued or clipped to it.

It is quiet in the hand and not on a hard floor.
