Small hands, busy hands.

Some children need to be doing something with their hands. It is not a problem to be solved, and we are not going to pretend we can solve it.

We can make the thing in their hands quiet and one-handed, and print it in a single piece so there is nothing to come off in a school bag.

It does nothing interesting from across a room, so it is unlikely to be confiscated.

It is not suitable for children under 36 months, because it is rigid plastic with defined edges, and it is not a teether.
